OPPO Reno 16 in Kenya

The Oppo Reno 16 price in Kenya is KES 45,500, inclusive of a 2-years warranty. It is a camera-focused mid-ranger measuring 151.2 x 72.4 x 8.2 mm and weighing 191g, with a glass front, aluminium frame, and strong IP68/IP69K durability. It pairs a 200MP triple camera, including a real 3.5x telephoto, with a compact bright AMOLED and a big 6700mAh battery on the Dimensity 8500 Super. It comes in black, purple, and white colors.

What You Should Know Before Buying the Oppo Reno 16:

  • A genuinely strong camera for the price: A 200MP main, a dedicated 50MP 3.5x optical telephoto, a 50MP ultrawide, and a high-res 50MP ultrawide selfie, a proper multi-lens system, not a token one.
  • Compact and light: A 6.32-inch body that's easy to use one-handed.
  • Big battery, fast charging: 6700mAh comfortably lasts two days, with fast 80W charging.
  • Capable chip: The Dimensity 8500 Super handles demanding games and multitasking well.
  • Older storage and USB: UFS 3.1 (not 4.x) and USB 2.0 are the main cost-cutting points.

The Cameras

This is the Reno 16's standout. The 200MP main camera with OIS captures huge detail and holds up in low light, and crucially it's joined by a dedicated 50MP telephoto with 3.5x optical zoom and its own OIS, real optical reach for portraits and distant subjects that most phones at this price fake with digital crop, plus a capable 50MP autofocus ultrawide. Up front, a high-res 50MP ultrawide autofocus selfie is excellent for self-portraits and group shots, and shoots 4K. Video records up to 4K60. Having three strong rear cameras plus a 50MP selfie makes this a genuinely versatile camera phone, rare at this price.

Display and Performance

The 6.32-inch AMOLED is compact and bright, running at 120Hz with 1800 nits in high brightness for outdoor visibility, 3600 nits peak, and 3840Hz PWM dimming for eye comfort. At 460 ppi it's sharp, and the compact size makes it comfortable one-handed. Power comes from the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Super (4nm), a capable chip that handles demanding games and heavy multitasking smoothly, with up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. It runs ColorOS 16 on Android 16.

Battery and the Rest

A big 6700mAh battery comfortably delivers two days of normal use, impressive in a compact phone, and 80W wired charging refills it quickly, with reverse wired charging too. It's well equipped with 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 with LHDC 5, NFC, an IR blaster, and an under-display fingerprint reader, plus IP68/IP69K durability. Two honest notes: storage uses the older UFS 3.1 standard (slower than UFS 4.x), and the USB-C port is the slower 2.0 standard.
