The Cameras:
Apple's best, and the reason to buy it. The 48MP main camera now has a variable aperture spanning f/1.5 to f/4.0, so you control depth of field optically, wide open for low light and background blur, stopped down for edge-to-edge sharpness, something new to iPhone. The whole rear system is 48MP: a 48MP periscope telephoto with 4x optical zoom and 3D sensor-shift stabilisation (and because it's 48MP, cropping further into that zoom stays detailed), plus a 48MP ultrawide with macro, backed by a LiDAR scanner for fast low-light focus. Video is genuinely pro-grade: 4K up to 120fps, ProRes RAW, Apple Log 2, and spatial video. An 18MP front camera shoots landscape without rotating the phone.
Performance, Display, and Storage:
The 2nm A20 Pro with 12GB RAM makes this the fastest iPhone, comfortable with demanding games, on-device 4K ProRes editing, and Apple Intelligence AI features, and it'll stay quick for years. The 6.9-inch LTPO OLED runs the full 1-120Hz ProMotion range, hits 3000 nits at peak, and adds an anti-reflective coating that cuts glare and makes it far easier to read in bright Kenyan sun. Storage runs 256GB to a huge 2TB on fast NVMe (no microSD), so size up if you shoot ProRes. The USB-C port is fast 3.2 Gen 2 with DisplayPort out.
Battery, Charging, and the SIM Versions:
Battery depends on the model: the eSIM-only version fits 5567mAh, the physical-SIM version 5391mAh, since the SIM tray takes space. Either way it's an all-day-plus phone. Charging is fast, around 50% in just 15 minutes wired via USB-C PD, plus 25W MagSafe/Qi2 wireless (15W on China units) and 4.5W reverse wired. Confirm with us which SIM/battery version suits how you use SIMs in Kenya.
Durability, Satellite Safety, and Connectivity:
iPhone 18 pro Max keeps a strong IP68 rating, sealed against dust and good for 6m immersion, deeper than most rivals. Satellite Emergency SOS, Messages, and Find My work with no cellular signal, a valuable off-grid safety net, though satellite availability varies by region, so confirm for Kenya. Connectivity is complete: 5G, tri-band Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, second-gen UWB, NFC with Apple Pay, and Face ID. It runs iOS 27.
