Samsung Galaxy A18 4G in Kenya
The Samsung Galaxy A18 price in Kenya is KES 27,500. It is an affordable 4G phone measuring 164.4 x 77.9 x 7.7 mm and weighing 196g, with a Gorilla Glass 3 front, plastic build, and an IP64 splash rating. A18 runs Android 17 with One UI 9 on the Exynos 1610, comes in black, grey, and light blue, and carries a 2-year warranty, plus a 1-year screen replacement warranty.
The Display:
A 6.7-inch Super AMOLED, the headline at this price, most rivals here use LCD. AMOLED means true blacks, punchy colour, and better contrast, and it's Full HD+ sharp at 385 ppi. It runs at 90Hz, so scrolling is smooth (a clear step up from 60Hz, if not the 120Hz of pricier phones). It's a genuinely nice screen for the money.
Cameras:
A triple camera led by a 50MP main (f/1.8) that takes detailed daylight photos, backed by a 5MP ultrawide for wider scenes and a 2MP macro for close-ups, with a 13MP selfie. Video records at 1080p. The main camera does the real work; the ultrawide and macro are helpers.
Software and Support:
This is where Samsung pulls ahead. The A18 runs Android 17 with One UI 9 and gets up to 6 major OS updates, exceptional for a phone at this price. It keeps the phone secure and current for years, making it a genuinely smart long-term buy rather than something you replace in two years.
Battery, connectivity and charging:
A 5000mAh battery comfortably lasts a full day, with 25W charging (50% in about 30 minutes). Storage runs 64GB to 256GB, expandable by microSD, though the card shares the second SIM slot (so it's two SIMs or a card). You also get a side fingerprint reader, dual SIM, and 4G. NFC is region dependent, so confirm it if you need contactless payments.

- Real Super AMOLED screen: Not an LCD, true blacks and punchy colours, but 90Hz rather than 120Hz.
- Triple camera: A 50MP main with a 5MP ultrawide and 2MP macro; the main does the real work.
