Motorola Edge 70 Features and Price in Kenya

The Motorola Edge 70 price in Kenya is KES 67,000 inclusive of a free 68W charger, a free Moto Watch Fit, and a 1-year warranty. Released on October 29, 2025, the Edge 70 is the thinnest mid-range phone available in Kenya at just 6 mm and 159 grams, with IP68/IP69 dual water resistance and MIL-STD-810H durability certification.

Design & Build:

The design of Motorola Edge 70 uses Gorilla Glass 7i on the front, an aluminum frame, and a glass back. The camera island is a slightly raised metal sheet with four decorative rings; the fourth ring is aesthetic, providing symmetry without housing an actual lens. A MagSafe-compatible transparent case is included in the box. The Edge 70 is available in four Pantone-validated colors: Gadget Gray, Lily Pad, Bronze Green, and Cloud Dancer.

IP68 + IP69 + MIL-STD-810H: It is More Durable Than It Looks. For a 6mm phone, the Edge 70's durability credentials are remarkable. IP68 means submersion up to 1.5m for 30 minutes. IP69 means high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. MIL-STD-810H means it has been tested against drops, vibration, temperature extremes, humidity, and altitude. For Kenyan buyers who want an ultra-slim phone that can genuinely handle daily life, including Nairobi's heavy rains, the Edge 70 is the only ultra-thin option with this level of protection.

Display:

The Edge 70 features a 6.7-inch P-OLED display with a resolution of 1220 x 2712 pixels at 446 ppi, a 1.5K panel that is noticeably sharper than Full HD. It runs at up to 120Hz and peaks at an extraordinary 4,500 nits, brighter than the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra (2,600 nits) and higher than any other phone at its price point. The panel is Pantone Validated and Pantone SkinTone Validated, meaning colors and skin tones are calibrated to real-world Pantone color standards, producing more accurate and natural-looking photos and videos.

The display is flat (not curved) with symmetrical bezels. HDR10+ is supported for compatible streaming content. One limitation: no LTPO adaptive refresh, the phone runs at either 60Hz or 120Hz, without the granular 1Hz–120Hz range of LTPO panels found on premium flagships.

Performance:

The Edge 70 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 (4 nm), a capable upper-mid-range chip that handles everyday tasks smoothly. It also handles daily tasks, multitasking, and gaming without major issues.

Gaming Performance: The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 is not a gaming chip. We recommend that you consider other options if gaming is important. Multiple reviewers note it handles casual gaming and medium-settings games adequately, but demanding titles like BGMI or Call of Duty Mobile at maximum settings will produce frame drops. The Edge 70 is designed for lifestyle, design, and everyday performance, not gaming. If gaming is your priority, the OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra or Infinix GT 50 Pro are far better choices.

RAM options at our store include 12GB RAM / 512GB storage on UFS 3.1. The phone ships with Android 16 and Hello UI, Motorola's near-stock Android experience with minimal modifications. Motorola has committed to 4 years of OS upgrades and 6 years of security patches on this phone.

Camera System:

The Edge 70 features three 50MP cameras:

  • 50MP wide camera, f/1.8, 24mm, 1/1.56" sensor, OIS, and multi-directional PDAF, the main shooter with a large sensor and OIS for stabilized shots and video. Uses Quad Pixel technology (pixel binning) to produce 12.5MP output by default for better low-light performance, with a switchable 50MP Ultra-Res mode for maximum detail
  • 50MP ultrawide camera, f/2.0, 12mm, 120°, AF, notably, this ultrawide has autofocus, enabling it to double as a macro camera for close-up shots. ITdaily praises its "good sharpness and clarity" with consistent colour science matching the main camera
  • 50MP selfie camera, f/2.0, 21mm, a capable front camera that shoots 4K@30fps

All three cameras support a minimum of 4K@30fps recording, the main camera additionally supports 4K@60fps.

Battery & Charging:

The 4,800 mAh silicon-carbon battery is the Edge 70's most impressive engineering achievement, fitting a near-5,000 mAh cell into a 6 mm body. For context, the iPhone Air has a 3,149mAh battery and the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge has 3,900mAh. The Edge 70's battery is larger than both ultra-slim rivals combined.

Charging is generous:

  • 68W TurboPower wired charging: 80% in approximately 30 minutes, full charge in approximately 45 minutes. Crucially, the charger is included in the box at Smartphones Planet, unlike the standard Motorola retail box globally
  • 15W wireless charging: compatible with Qi2 and MagSafe via the included transparent case

Connectivity:

The Edge 70 supports 5G (Safaricom and Airtel Kenya compatible), Wi-Fi 6E (dual or tri-band), Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC for tap-to-pay. GPS covers GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BDS, and QZSS. The Smart Connect feature enables seamless handoff between Motorola devices, useful if you own other Motorola products. SIM options are Nano-SIM + eSIM (international variant). USB-C 2.0 for charging and OTG.
